Ladies Network was started when I had a lot more time on my hands and there were great plans! At the time there was only WIRE running in Norfolk for women only networking and having done a test event back in 2008 with Rosie Beswick from Seek It Out! speaking to us along with Alison Medlock from Enterprising Women it was a sure-fire success and great fun to boot.
So plans were laid to create a networking group with a difference - networking for sure but with more of an emphasis on an enjoyable event building relationships and so business benefitting off the back of it.
We have had a number of events over the past few years including small coffee mornings, speaker events, pamper evenings and trips to health spas (my own personal favourite).
We have of course also seen a rapid growth in other women-only networking events and have a number of successful ones running across Norfolk (you can find out more about these on our Network in Norfolk page) and I would heartily recommend that you visit one day.
We don't organise many events during the year but we have plans for 2011 in the form of a cocktail evening and also perhaps a meal out - an excuse to glam up and have time out 'with the girls' growing your contact network and meeting new business contacts whilst enjoying good food, good company and perhaps even a speaker thrown in for good measure. We're also thinking about a summer BBQ event which could involve families.
There are plans afoot to develop Ladies Network into something more tangible and useful for the women in business in Norfolk so watch this space.
